Real Estate Essentials with Jay Deher (June 2014 - Present)
  • Real Estate Essentials with Jay Deher - Intern
    • Signed onto the weekly TV show as an intern. Under the tutelage of my supervisor, I was taught the many aspects of shooting on set such as framing the shot, getting proper lighting, etc. My primary task is operating the AG-HMC150 camera used on set. My other tasks on set include sound recording, using reflectors, and lighting.
  • Wasatch Movers Commercial - Intern
    • Helped shoot a commercial for Wasatch Movers, a sponsor of Real Estate Essentials. Was responsible for directing on-screen talent and, working with my partner, shoot the necessary shots from different angles and lighting. All shots were then given to my supervisor for editing.
Freelance (2011 - Present)
  • Tae Do (Part 2) - Director, Video Editor
    • Helped a friend do a Korean Drama parody video short for his class. The project was low budget and needed be done in a 5-day deadline. I directed the video shoot for 2 days and spent the last 3 day putting the video together in Adobe AfterEffects and Adobe Premiere.

University of Utah Film and Media Arts Department (Fall 2011 - May 2013)
  • 3D ANIMATION STUDENT
    • Robot #7 Dance - Creator
      • This project was done as my senior animation project. I used the same robot model used in the animation A Boy and His Robot and animated it to do a dance. The dance is based on a dance performance done by the dance group Jabbawockeez. I did all the background modeling and texturing and all the animation. The primary focus was to put everything I learned in animation into this project. The animation was created in AutoDesk Maya and edited in Adobe Premiere.
    • A Boy and His Robot - Background Modeler, Animator
      • In partnership with Kelly Root, we created this animation short about a boy and a robot he built. My responsibilities were to model the sets and props for the setting and texture them. I was also involved with some of the animations for both the boy and the robot. The primary focus for this project was to work in a partnership setting and have a learning experience from each other in animation. The animation was created in AutoDesk Maya and edited in Adobe AfterEffects and Final Cut Pro.
    • Tigerade - Creator
      • My second AutoDesk Maya project. I created and rigged two different models in this project and created a simple background for the setting. The primary focus for this project was rigging a model and animating the movements of the model(s). The animation was created in AutoDesk Maya and edited in Adobe AfterEffects.
    • Sweet Bakery - Creator
      • My first AutoDesk Maya project. I created all the models and textured them based on an artist's artwork. The primary focus for this project was modeling, texturing, how to map out UVs, and applying basic keyframes in AutoDesk Maya. The animation was created in AutoDesk Maya and edited in Adobe AfterEffects.
  • 2D ANIMATION STUDENT
    • Practice Makes Perfect - Creator
      • This was a simple, stop-motion style project. The animation are all hand drawn and were then scanned into a computer. The individual pictures were then sent into Adobe Photoshop for simple adjustments and resizing and then into Adobe AfterEffects for editing. The primary focus for this project was to familiarize the basic use of AfterEffects. The animation are all hand drawn by myself, retouched in Adobe Photoshop, and edited in Adobe AfterEffects.
  • FILM PRODUCTION STUDENT
    • Making of a Machinima Video - Creator
      • This project is a documentary on my Machinima team and the project that we were doing during the same time I had my Film Production class. The majority of the shots were done by me with some done by a friend of mine. All interview questions and responses were recorded with the use of a lavaliere mic. The primary focus of this project was to make a documentary video but with all audio done outside the video shoot so you won't see an individual on screen speaking. Video editing was done using Final Cut Pro.
    • Fatality - Creator
      • This project is a video short created based on three keywords randomly drawn in my Film Production class. With the keywords, I was to create a short using all three of the words. The video was shot at my friend's house and had two of my friends as my actors. The primary focus of this project was to familiarize myself with all stages of a video production as well as using the video editing software, Final Cut Pro. Video editing for this short was done using Final Cut Pro.
  • MACHINIMA STUDENT
    • Daunting Inferno - Animator
      • A group project done in collaboration with Computer Science students. From a list of project proposals, we were to choose one we were interested in and work in a group to create a video from that proposal. My responsibilities in the group is to do the animation assigned by the group leader within a given time frame. The primary focus of this project was to create a five minute short using everything learned in the class. Animation was done in the Half-Life 2 Engine and Faceposer and was edited in Adobe Premiere.
    • The Brake-Up - Animator, Voice Actor, Video Editor
      • A group project done in collaboration with Computer Science students. From a list of project proposals, we were to choose one we were interested in and work in a group to create a video from that proposal. My responsibilities include voice acting, animating the characters within the Half-Life 2 environment, render scenes, and edit assigned scenes. The primary focus of the project was to have the collaboration of Film students with Computer Science students to bring the different department's knowledge and share with the other. Animation was done in the Half-Life 2 Engine and Faceposer and was edited in Adobe Premiere.
    • Crab Away - Animator, Voice Actor
      • A project done with a partner using built-in characters and environments in the Half-Life 2 Game Engine. My responsibilities for the project includes animating and some voice acting. The primary focus for this project is the familiarize the built-in functions in the Half-Life 2 Engine and animating characters in the engine. Faceposer, an outside but related program was also used for animating, mainly for facial animation. The animation was done in the Half-Life 2 Engine and Faceposer and was edited in Adobe Premiere.
